* Offered in cooperation with a German university as a double degree
The focus on Germany is one of the DKU's main characteristics. Thus, students in the bachelor's programs receive intensive language courses in German and English in addition to their specialized training. In the 3rd year, more than half of the modules are taught in German by guest lecturers. In their courses, they not only impart specialist knowledge but also enable students to experience German teaching culture in their own country.
In the master's programs, too, specialization subjects are taught by the so-called flying faculty, mostly in English.
DKU offers a total of 8 programs in the Bachelor's area, which can be completed as a double degree. For this, the best students can spend the 4th academic year at a German partner university. Afterwards, they return to DKU to take the Kazakh state examination. Afterwards, they receive their two Bachelor certificates.
Partner universities in Germany
For more than 10 years, the German-Kazakh University has been reliably supported by a group of five German universities. Kazakh students have the opportunity to obtain a double degree at the partner universities. Professors from these universities form the long-standing core of the Flying Faculty.
In November 2019, the previously participating universities formally merged into a consortium.
The universities in the consortium supporting DKU are:
