GKU – Project

Responsibilities

The goal of the German Project office is to support development of GKU and to ensure good cooperation between GKU and its German partners. In collaboration with German Project office at GKU in Almaty:
    • German lecturers are recruited for teaching at GKU, their assignments are planned and organized,
    • Study programs are developed in cooperation with German partners,
    • Meetings of university consortium are prepared in terms of content and organization,
    • Networking and public relations for GKU in Germany and Central Asia are provided,
    • Scholarships for students at GKU as well as for students, who come to Germany, are applied and issued,
    • Intensive language courses for students and staff at GKU are supported.
GKU is supported by the DAAD from funds of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the TNB- Project (Transnational Education). The funds are received by the project sponsor Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences and then they are spent on the promotion of GKU.
